Start your youtube channel

In establishing a YouTube channel, there are several steps to take:

Sign up for a Google Account if you do not already have one – you need a Google account to create a YouTube channel.

Once you are signed into YouTube, find your profile icon in the top right, click on it and select “Create a channel”.

To create a channel, you will be asked to pick a channel name – You can either use the name on your Google account or select a channel name – just be sure that it matches your content and brand.

When setting up your channel before creating content, you will not want to simply create a channel with a name. You will want to add profile picture and banner and complete the “About” section indicating the purpose of your channel and the content you plan to publish.

You will want to designate a niche and topic for your channel – ideally you will select a topic that you are passionate about, but also that has some audience demand to help get viewers initially and help retain users.

Now you are ready to create and upload your first video that will match you’re channel theme. Try to produce good quality videos with good equipment and lighting.

When creating your channel you can optimize your channel settings (privileges, monetization if you so desire and if you have the privilege to, and add links to your other social media or website.

Start publishing your content regularly and engage with your audience to get your channel growing! You will see that over time your channel will start to grow and you will have a YouTube audience.

There are many things that you can do on the desktop or mobile, such as set-up multiple channels, or use Brand Accounts if you choose to do.

In short, create your channel with your Google account and establish your channel branding and pick your niche.
